I am a to-do list oriented person. Byron is not. He does, however, take good direction and dreams of big projects to accomplish. It's a perfect match. I have always found that the making of goals, and sharing them, either with a mentor, friend, post-it, or blog community serves as some sort of accountability. Additionally, you also gain a great amount of knowledge about a person (or couple) when he/she shares his/her hopes and dreams.
B and I will be moving in about a month, out of our beloved downtown loft apartment to a rental house in Waco so that the sweet bloggin' pup of ours has room to run. Lots of our goals pertain to the house and things we want to do to make it feel like ours. Lucky for you, readers, DIY projects will be popping up quite frequently on the blog!
B and I are also at the point in our lives to think about how we want to conduct ourselves as independents, or an independent unit. Getting married young is crazy and wonderful. Some may think it is not a good option if we are not completely "on our own" yet, financially successful in our own right, or knowledgeable about all things "adult." We disagree. Getting married young is our greatest decision! So, as we think about how we want to live in the world and how we want to love others in the world, we create goals.
Byron and I have broken our goals down into things we want to learn together, because we highly value a sharp mind that is informed about many different things, also realizing and recognizing the importance of keeping the mind alert as we age; things we want to do together, because duh! marriage is about doing life together; and things we want to make together, because we are people who like to see what we can do ourselves, inspired by those we see taking back the market into their hands, literally, by producing what they want to see.
Things we want to learn:
Countries & geographhy
Cuts of meat
Classic cocktail mixology
Types of wine, what to pair them with
More about photography & hand lettering
Cooking, in general
Things we want to do:
Camp! In the PNW forests.
Things we want to make:
Any suggestions on things we should read or helpful websites to help us accomplish our goals? Please share!!!
