Q: Favorite moment of the second month?
M: Byron and I traveled back to Louisiana this past month for family reasons. While we were there, we took some time to walk out to our "engagement tree" with Eleanor running up ahead. We walked the same path that we did on the day he proposed. We slept in the same area of the house we did the very first time he took me out there, now sharing an air mattress. All these little things were the sweetest moments. But I cherish the car ride. The warm sun. Looking at Byron. Silly conversation and sing along. Reading a new book out loud. Playing 20 questions. I love car rides with Byron. No doubt my favorite time this month.
B: Nantucket and Louisiana
Q: What is something new you have learned about your spouse?
M: (I always mean to write down this answer as soon as I learn it, but I forget, and it escapes my memory when I am writing! Grr!) He is good at deal making. He said "I'll do the dishes forever if you meal plan forever." Deal.
B: Maggie and I have both agreed that she is a little bit messier than we thought she would be, but that's okay because I am cleaning more. I do the dishes every night. I am the best.
Q: How do you answer the question, "How is married life?" (One we both receive all the time.)
M: I normally just say "Great!" followed by a mumbling and trailing of other adjectives and nouns and phrases such as "so fun! love it! adventure! something new! bestfriendslivingtogetherlotsoflearninggreatdecision..."
B: "It's the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Q: What project/hope do you share this month?
M: This month we talked about a second puppy almost every day. We've decided it's probably not best. But when you are the baby of the family, marrying a baby of the family...who knows! That and sailing.
B: How we are going to spruce up our house when we move in; planning and dreaming about that; and cooking a lot.
Q: Three words for the second month:
M: Family. Comfort. Pinterest.
B: School. Cooking. Love/marriage.
